20 years after the series production of the 993 came to an end, Porsche Classic has once again built a 911 Turbo with an air-cooled engine. To this day, the 993 remains in great demand among enthusiasts. Its technology is considered particularly mature and reliable.
“Project Gold” is Porsche Classic’s spectacular contribution in celebration of “70 Years of Porsche Sports Cars”: against the background of this anniversary and the forthcoming launch of the Taycan, the first entirely electrically powered Porsche sports car, the idea emerged to build a completely new vehicle based on an original bodyshell of the Type 993 that was still available. The experts were able to draw on more than 6,500 original parts to do this.
