16 years have gone by since Porsche last won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now the sports carmaker is back, with the newly designed racing car 919 Hybrid to compete in the class of the WEC (World Endurance Championship). The expectations towards the car, the team and the drivers are high, not least because Mark Webber, the former F1 driver whose services have been enlisted, is an international superstar.
The first instalment of the 3-part documentary looks at Porsche’s history of racing sports, the intense preparations over the past 12 months, test runs, background preparations and the intensity with which Porsche’s return to racing is being driven forward.
